Alexander Werner Resnick, VMD

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Dermatology

Dr. Werner was raised in the San Fernando Valley, and attended Harvard High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987.

Following a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at California Animal Hospital, Dr. Werner completed the residency program in veterinary dermatology at the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Werner passed his boards to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 1991, and has accepted referral cases in Los Angeles since that time. Dr. Werner sees referral cases in Studio City and Westlake Village, California.

In addition to giving lectures throughout the United States and in Canada, Dr. Werner has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is the author of numerous book chapters, and has been the editor of the dermatology section in the latest editions of the Blackwell's Five-Minute Veterinary Consult textbook.  His latest textbook, the Clinical Companion: Small Animal Dermatology 3rd edition, was published in 2018.

Outside practice, Dr. Werner lives with his husband and their menagerie of adopted (often dermatologically-challenged) animals including  Basset Hounds, two horses, Koi fish and birds. Not the expert rider, Dr. Werner does his best to maintain the balance between remaining in the saddle and being fit to examine cases.



William Oldenhoff, DVM

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Dermatology

Dr. William Oldenhoff was born and raised in rural Wisconsin.  He attended the University of Wisconsin for undergraduate studies and veterinary school.  Following veterinary school he worked in a small animal general practice before returning to the University of Wisconsin for both a dermatology internship and a dermatology residency.

Dr. Oldenhoff became board-certified in veterinary dermatology in 2014.  He has practiced dermatology in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Madison, Wisconsin.  Having never lived on the West Coast, he decided a change was in order and has relocated to Southern California to be with family.Dr. Oldenhoff has lectured both throughout the United States and internationally.  He has authored several publications and has contributed to the textbook, Veterinary Allergy.

In his free time, Dr. Oldenhoff enjoys bicycling, traveling, cooking and spending time with his family.  He is particularly passionate about sourdough bread making and home fermentation.  Like any good Wisconsinite, he always has a wide selection of cheeses at home.
